Is Homeopathy a Pseudo-science?

When Dr Samuel Hahnemann propounded his new system of medicine  called homeopathy many must have looked at the new  system with cynicism. The 19 th century was a time of theories. Any thing could get acceptancee if only it was supported by theories. So we need not take the homeopathic theories too seriously! These theories run counter to our observations of what happens in the physical world.

Critics of homeopathy  call it a pseudo-science based on  supersttions  But at the same time they say that it is effective ! They concede that homeopathy works! The fault lies in our narrow definition of science .

As a practising physician Dr Hahnemann must have  like any other observant human being, noticed the fact that the human body has an amazing ability to cure itself> Researches carried out worldwide after the time of Dr Hahnemann have brought out  a lot of amazing facts about the human body. The Creator has designed the human body in such a way that  it has self-healing . self-sdjusting and self- correcting powers of its own. In addition to homeostasis, the body's ability to return to equilibrium, the body has several hidden reserves and potentialities .An effective medical system would be one that makes use of the body"s own self-healing power with the least human intervention . The laws operating in the physical world cannot be applied to  human body because of the intimate connection between the body and the mind The mind controls the human body to such an extent that we have  not yet known it fully! New viruses are appearing and antibiotics are not effective in combating these new viruses. So the critics of homeopathy are not so confident in their denunciation of homeopathy! The administration of chemicals is causing cancers and autoimmune diseases throughout the world. So we should look at homeopathy as the medical system of the future!
I will  continue the discussion in my next post
